To keep us on target, EA announced three new multiplayer game modes for Star Wars Battlefront, a welcome addition to the Walker Assault and Drop Zone we got to experience last weekend.
I’ve got a good feeling about these game modes…
Droid Run:
Chaotic and fastpaced, this game mode sees players fighting to control three GNK droids spread out on the map.
This little trash can looking box is a GNK droid. Here’s what DICE had to say:
The high tempo, 6v6 map design will also include variations, such as Tatooine, Endor, Hoth, Sullust, and in December, Jakku.
Hero Hunt:
Battlefront’s Juggernaught mode, this game type allows one player to play as a Hero or Villain character and try to survive against 7 Rebel or Imperial troops.
Whoever lands the killing blow on the current Hero or Villain then takes their place, and the cycle continues.
Cargo:
This game mode is similar to capture the flag, but it has a small twist. DICE explained how this 6v6 game type works:
On the Tatooine version of this mode, DICE mentions how the Millennium Falcon works as a tactical center for the rebels, but using it that way will be a risky task. Never tell me the odds!
In total, Battlefront will include 8 different multiplayer game types on release, and while the game has no single-player campaign, it will have survival missions which can be played offline or through splitscreen.
The full game will be released on November 17.
